Sarah Korneisel Jaegers is a Graduate Associate at The Ohio State University, where she is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Clarinet Performance under the guidance of Dr. Caroline Hartig. Mrs. Jaegers is a solo, chamber, and orchestral performer with a strong interest in world music, expansion of the clarinet repertoire, and diversification of the canon.
An international performer since 2011, Mrs. Jaegers has toured in countries throughout Europe. As principal clarinet of the Iowa State University Wind Ensemble in 2013 and a member of the ensemble in 2011, she performed in Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. In 2015, Mrs. Jaegers toured as principal clarinet and counselor with the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp International Southern Winds in France, Germany, and the Netherlands, and was invited to perform at the International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest in Madrid, Spain as a member of the Michigan State University Clarinet Choir. A member of the International Clarinet Association since 2010, Mrs. Jaegers also attended the ICA ClarinetFest in 2012 as a volunteer and in 2016 as a reporter for the ICA journal, The Clarinet. She performed as a member of the Collegiate Clarinet Choir both years. In the summer of 2016, Mrs. Jaegers also attended the Belgian Clarinet Academy in Ostend, Belgium, the Corsi Internazionali di Perfezonamento Musicale in Cividale del Friuli, Italy, and the European Clarinet Festival in Camerino, Italy. During these festivals, she performed both as a soloist and as a clarinet choir member.
Mrs. Jaegers has performed in masterclasses for distinguished clarinetists Shawn Copeland, Nicola Bulfone, Eddy Vanoosthuyse, Deborah Bish, Shawn Copeland, Eli Eban, Bil Jackson, John Klinghammer, Robert Spring, Jana Starling, Walter Seyfarth, Michele Gingras, and Eric Mandat, and performed at the Iowa Clarinet Day masterclass in 2012. In 2014, she was elected into the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society.
Mrs. Jaegers holds a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from Michigan State University, where she studied under Dr. Guy Yehuda, and two degrees—a Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in World Languages and Cultures (Spanish)—from Iowa State University, where she studied under Dr. Gregory Oakes. A Graduate Fellowship and College of Music Scholarship recipient at Michigan State, Mrs. Jaegers also volunteered as a member of the MSU College of Music Running Start Student Advisory Board from 2014-2015. At Iowa State, Mrs. Jaegers was the winner of the clarinet studio mock auditions in 2012, 2013, and 2014, as well as a Concert of Soloists Competition finalist in 2011 and 2013.
